Directions to Daisy Hill
There are three possible routes to Lynmouth:
1. From Bridgewater to LynmouthThis is the A39 coastal route which takes you through Dunster, Minehead, Selworthy and Porlock. This part of the journey takes approximately 75 minutes but passes through beautiful countryside with lovely views over Exmoor and the Bristol Channel towards Wales. As one approaches Lynmouth from this direction the A39 brings you down the steep Countisbury Hill. Towards the foot of the hill, shortly after passing the entrance to 'The Tors Hotel' on the left and before you cross the bridge over the river, is Tors Road. Turn left into Tors Road and proceed with care as it is a narrow lane. Daisy Hill (No. 15) is about 300 yards up on the left hand side.
2. From Taunton to Lynmouth This is a lovely route over the top of Exmoor which passes through Wheddons Cross, Simonsbath and Exford. This part of the journey will take approximately 75 minutes at a steady pace. From Taunton follow the signs for the A358 to Watchet and Minehead. Just after the Cedars Health Club on the right, turn left onto the B3224 and follow the signposts all the way to Wheddons Cross. At Wheddons Cross go straight over continuing on the B3224 to Dunkery Beacon & Exford. Pass through Exford, then Simonsbath and then pick up the B3223 to Lynton and Lynmouth. Eventually you will come to a 'T' junction at which you turn right, signposted A39 to Lynmouth and Porlock. As you enter the village you will come to another 'T' junction with'?The Shelleys Hotel' on your left. Turn right, cross the bridge over the East Lyn River and turn immediately right again into Tors Road. Proceed along Tors Road with care as it is a narrow lane. Daisy Hill (No. 15) is about 300 yards up on the left hand side.
3. From Tiverton (or Junction 27 on the M5)This route avoids most of the windy roads and takes approximately 60 minutes. Follow the A361 towards South Molton and Barnstaple. After approximately half an hour turn right, off the A361, onto the A399 towards Lynton, Lynmouth and Ilfracombe. At Blackmore Gate (with the Station Inn on your left hand side) turn right onto the A39 and follow signs to Lynton and Lynmouth. At Barbrook (with the only local petrol station on your right) filter off to the left and follow the signs for B3234 to Lynton. After a few hundred yards the road to Lynton takes a left. Follow the signs to Lynmouth. As you approach Lynmouth you will descend a steep hill and as you enter the village the road will take you over the East Lyn River. Once over the bridge turn immediately right into Tors Road. Proceed along Tors Road with care as it is a narrow lane. Daisy Hill (No. 15) is about 300 yards up on the left hand side.
